Baumholder Commissary

*COMMISSARY SHOUT OUT* -Al Manglicmot, Grocery Manager Baumholder Commissary- So, despite getting most of our groceries off post, there are definitely those items that we choose to shop the commissary for due to them not being available elsewhere. Each time I go to the commissary (usually Baumholder), the workers are always kind and helpful. However- I think I just had the absolute best customer service experience of my entire life and so I have to give a shout out. It started with one phone call into the store to see if they would be carrying a product that had been posted at other locations. Fortunately for me, Al Mangliclimot answered the phone. It ended with a week long *successful* hunt that not only left me stunned with gratitude, but I dont think it is possible for me to ever see the commissary as a whole as anything less than a hub of thoughtful, compassionate employees that are dedicated to supporting military customers. This employee didnt just write my name down and say he would call me back. He STOPPED what he was doing in that moment on the phone with me to go in the back and search for the product. When it wasnt there, he checked his list to see if/when it would be coming in. When it wasnt there, he said he would reach out to the other locations. When they didnt answer/ the product wasnt available, he went on his OWN time to these locations to check for the product. It was unfortunately sold out at those locations at that point. He eventually got ahold of the product and held it for me until I could pick it up. He was communicating with me each day of this hunt and the whole time echoed “how this was his job- to satisfy customers to the best of his ability. “ But he did so much more and I am so impressed. He needs a raise, a gold star, a promotion, all the things because he is the definition of going above and beyond !!!!!!!!! So in a world full of people too busy/ in a rush, be like Al. People like Al are who really leaves an impression and makes a difference. Forever now, when the commissary gets brought up in conversation, I will think of and mention this experience that shaped the way I see military commissaries as a whole. 👏🏻 👏🏻 ✨✨

Although the placement of some items may be confusing at first, they do a wonderful job of providing a variety of American based items with a limited amount of space.

I think it serves the purpose and it usually very well stock!! Also the cashiers are very friendly and helpful!! My toddler was sleeping and they were great help and that means a lot!!!

It's a clean & well organized place. You'll find most of your grocery list. Prices are on an average scale.

Everything you can think of, to make your stay completely pleasant, a homelike store with all your basics.

For being the only commissary around (next one is almost 40 minutes away), they are doing pretty good with inventory during this pandemic. Good job, workers!

Customer service is excellent and the place is very clean.Any time I ask for something someone will actually go and retrieve it for me.
